1999 Northwest Cup
The weather was cool (and wet!!!) but many of the runs were HOT! The Northwest Cup USDAA Trial featured a USDAA Regional Grand Prix of Dog Agility, a qualifier for the USDAA Nationals, and the awarding of the Northwest Cup for the Open (jumping 22 inches and over) and Mini (jumping under 22 inches) that had the best combined scores for the two standard agility runs of the weekend. In case of a tie, the dog with the fastest combined speed (average yards per second) won.
The judges were Jean Mackenzie of New Hampshire and Joe Sare of Michigan. They both set challenging and fun courses and kept things moving along at a brisk pace with much good humor.

As you notice, we sent a lot of glassware south to California. It was worth it, however, to get to watch and learn from some very excellent handlers and dogs. Some of our "natives" didn't do too badly, however, with CAT's Wendy Ware, Ed Clarkson and Robin Iverson taking class titles, as did Rainier Agility Team's PJ Pezzela and WIllamette Agility Group's Erin Cimbri.
Congratulations to all and special congratulations to Ken Boyd and Becky, his Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Nancy Soyster and her BC, Ace, and Cindy Glantz and her Sheltie, Blaze, for winning their ADCHs. Quite an accomplishment.
Finally, thanks to all the CAT members who worked so hard and other competitors who pitched in to make the trial go (relatively) smoothly.
