The ghosts, ghouls and goblins were out in force.  Almost 200 doggy demons and their human(?) handlers haunted the Clackamas County Fairgrounds for the entire weekend.   The weather cooperated with near-perfect Halloween weather.  Penny Winegarther of Houston designed and judged the Masters and Advanced course while Gary Vizentainer of Colorado kept the Novice dogs and handlers challenged.  This was the first trial at which we used the new timing system in both rings.  It noticeably sped up the trial as did efficiency of the course builders and the ring crews organized by Barb White.   Thanks to Chairman Jim Hibbard, the trial committee and all the volunteers who helped make things go.

Aside from the very challenging and fun courses, the high (low?) point of the weekend was the Costume Parade and Fun Run.  The fun run required the dogs to negotiate a jumpers with weaves course that was sprinkled with distractions of various kinds -- a stuffed chicken, any number of stuffed toys and a glow-ball and Frisbee that went rolling/sailing across the course at the most distracting times.  Teams were judged on time plus faults where faults included excursions to investigate the various distractions.  The following will give you an idea of what you missed or remind you of how "over the top" some people were willing to go.  (The images are "thumbnails," click on them to see them full size.)

Bees were buzzing all around.  They included Queen Bee Daisy Peel with Fly (bee), beekeeper Susan Perry with Lacey and Natalie Foglio and Snickers.   Fly, only 14 months old flew around the fun course, turning in the best score.
